  1. Hi Barry, I love those tidy little links rather than the huge great long ones that look so messy.

    Enjoy the journey.

  7. Barry,
Great information and free software. As a complete newbie however I’m not sure why I should cloak my affiliate links? Could you enlighten me please? Thanks a lot.
    John

Hi John, yes of course my friend.
Sometimes our affiliate links can be bypassed, for example:
http://www.d9hosting.co.uk/clients/aff.php?aff=XXX is a D9 affiliate link. There are lots of people that would just copy the http://www.d9hosting.co.uk and go directly to the same page but without a referal, meaning you would loose any commission.

Sometimes affiliate links are so ugly that they put people of clicking on them, for example:
(and i’ve just got this link from clickbank)
http://7c1abgk0kcyl5o5mr7ki3cgckc.hop.clickbank.net/ And that link is for the silent sales machine, click it and see.

By cloaking our affiliate links, we protect our commissions and make them look more attractive so as to generate more clicks on them. By using the software supplied and the technique showed in the video you can make all of your links look like this:
    http://www.barry-wells.com/recommends/silent-sales-machine.html but yours would read;
http://www.johnmcnally54.com then recommends followed by the name that you give the cloaked link.

    I hope that helps John.
    Regards, Barry

  11. Hi Barry,
I am finally working on your Cloaked Links Video and I just wanted to say thanks. I have been battling away at it and I think it is finally coming together. Your blog is so far ahead of mine that all I can see is a cloud of dust disappearing over the horizon. I look at your blog a lot and I am probably going to pinch some of your ideas if that is OK. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, dontcha know. It’s a really sharp blog.
    Best wishes, Brian.

Hi Brian, thank you very much for the compliment. Of course you can use some of my ideas, no problem at all my friend.
If I can help in any way please let me know and I’ll do what I can. Don’t get concerned about the cloud of dust Brian, do what you can when you can (on a regular basis) and you WILL get to where you want to be my friend.

    Thanks again for the compliment
    Respect & Regards
    Barry
