Promoting My eBook Website; Part One.

Now that I had my eBook website completely set up with my newsletter opt-in forms in place, as mentioned in my last blog post. It was to time to start trying to attract visitors to my site.

As I have previously said, as I had bought the website from PlanetSMS I was automatically made a lifetime member, and, obviously, allowed into the members area where I found out about Brandable and PLR (Private Label Rights) products, (eBooks).

A Brandable eBook is an eBook written by somebody else that contains links that can be branded with your details. Some are affiliate links, which can earn you an affiliate commission; however the majority of Brandable eBooks allow you to add a link to a website. That website can be your own site or your eBay shop, and on occasion you may be able to place both your website and your eBay shop URLs.

All Brandable eBooks come with resell rights, so whenever you sell one let the customer know that they can also sell it. In all the eBooks that I have branded with my details I always include a copy of the sales page, so that the customer doesn’t have to much work to do to start selling the eBook on again. The more copies that are sold the more your links are going viral and can be earning you money for a long time after your initial sale.
However, when you brand an eBook the author is always in control of the content. All you can do is add your details where the Author allows you to. Which is still a very good way of getting your website out there, but PLR products are much better.

PLR (Private Label Rights) products allow you to:

•    Add your name as the Author
•    Edit the entire content of the eBook
•    Add your own affiliate links
•    Add back end sales

When you purchase PLR products you will get:

•    The source code, which is normally in a word document. The source code is the contents of the eBook which you will be editing, adding your affiliate links to and making your own.

•    Sales & Thank You pages, which you would edit to include your own details, your price, your terms and guarantees etc.

•    All the graphics, some of which can be edited (sometimes; if you have the correct programme to do so).

•    The Private Label Rights Licence. It is very important to read the licences before doing anything else, so as to be clear of exactly what you are allowed to do with the end product. I’m pointing this out as some PLR licences state that they’re not to sell on auction sites or to be given away.

Ok, you’ve bought a PLR product and want to know how to edit it.

Firstly you need some software to convert a word document to a PDF file. There are plenty of free ones on the internet, but I use http://www.openoffice.org it’s totally free and easy to use.

Once Open Office has been downloaded and installed, it’s really simple.

You open the source file and read the content. Once you’ve read it you may want to alter, or add some details. Or even rewrite some of it to your own style of writing, but you don’t have to if you’d rather not.

I always add a small textbox at the start of the document stating that the buyer has resell rights and can resell the eBook keeping all the profits for themselves. In the same textbox I tell them that they can get some free eBooks by visiting my website and including a link for them to click on. When they visit my website to claim the free eBooks they have to sign up to my newsletter so as to receive them, which helps my list grow.

You would add your affiliate links where appropriate. If you didn’t have any affiliate links to enter, here’s a quick tip. Click the existing link in the document and go to promotion/sales page, scroll to the bottom and look for an Affiliates link, click that and sign up to their affiliate programme. You’ll then get your very own affiliate link which you enter in place of the existing one in the source code document.

You may find a couple of similar products on the Clickbank Marketplace and if you do then add the affiliate links to those, so as to generate back end sales.

Once you have the document looking the way you want it, you simply click the pdf button on the toolbar to save the document as a PDF file.

That’s it your new product has been created, by you The Author!!

So where do you find PLR Products? Well a Google search would find you plenty, but like everything else, you get good and bad, old and new. You could find some on eBay, for example, but if they’re on eBay as PLR products the chances are that so many would’ve been sold that the market may well be flooded with that particular product and you won’t be able to get many results, no matter how well you’ve edited it.

There are a few websites that specialise in PLR Products. Have a look at these Two and see what you think:

  6. I simply can’t believe how many people place spam on websites, especially personal blogs just for the sake of some link juice. I need to stay alert all day still with fantastic plugins like Akismet. I don’t want to imagine what would happen to my websites if I didn’t had this kind of security. Get a real job spammers!

Thanks for leaving your comment. I totaly agree with you.

Akismet is a fantastic plugin that every blog should have.

    Regards, Barry
