Resources
Listed below are some of the resources that I use for this blog and for my business. As I find more great tools that help me improve my services, in any way at all, I will add them to the list below in the hope that they can help you as well. I would recommend that you bookmark this page and pop back from time to time.
Some of the links below are to free products & services and some are paid products & services. I do earn a commission from some of the paid products & services, but not all. I believe in these products & services and use them myself, otherwise I wouldn’t recommend them. I am not just in it for the commission.
Domain Name:
1&1 - I have purchased all of my domain names from 1&1 and have never had an issue with them or the service they provide. Their prices start at just £2.99 and they often have promotions on, where that price may be reduced for the first year. 1&1 also offer a web hosting service, but I have not used it so can not comment on it’s quality.
Website Hosting:
D9 Hosting – At the time of starting this blog I joined D9 Hosting. I also had an eBook website hosted with another company but once I had experienced D9′s support I transferred my other website to them. They are now the Only hosting company that I recommend.
Email Collection and Subscription:
Aweber – When I first started out Aweber were recommended to me as the world leader for email marketing and auto responder services. It is a monthly subscription service, but well worth the cost. There are cheaper alternatives available but I have never used them and therefore can not recommend them, this however is not a reflection of their quality. I simply do not recommend anything that I have not tried and tested myself.
Web Design and Graphics:
Planet Divinity – The Header, Footer and Opt In box on this blog were all designed by Steve of Planet Divinity. I think you will agree that the quality speaks for itself. I now use Steve’s services for all of my Graphical needs. Another great example of his work can be found at Ease The Squeeze With Auctions. Steve is able to create all of your Graphical needs, from eBook and CD Covers to Full Websites, at reasonable prices in a timely and professional manner.
Payment Processors:
ClickBank – My Payment processor of choice due to the advantages of the integrated affiliate program.
PayDotCom - Very similar to Clickbank in most respects, not as popular but equally as good.
PayPal – Simple and easy to set up. You can add a payment button anywhere and collect payments from all major credit cards.
Screen Capture Videos:
CamStudio – When I first started creating my screen capture videos I downloaded CamStudio as it is a free software, which is great for learning and building your confidence. However you are limited to what you can do with your finished videos.
CamStudioPro – I have now upgraded to CamStudioPro as it offers much more than the standard free version. It also offers full demonstration videos so that every step is simple to follow. There is a charge for the upgraded version but it is very small compared to the other choices available on the internet.
Office Package:
Open Office – I use Open Office to write all of my blog posts as it spell checks as I type, has a built in word count and is free to download. I also use Open Office to create all of my eBooks as it converts them to PDF files with a click of a button.
HTML Editing Software:
PageBreeze – I have used PageBreeze and it will do pretty much everything you need, however my favourite HTML Editing software is MS Frontpage, but you’ll need to purchase that.
NVU – Is another good HTML Editing software that is also free of charge.
eBook and purchase delivery:
My Digital Dispatch – This excellent software is attached to the back end of my website and sends my customers there purchased items, via email, immediately, upon completion of payment. It also allows me to add signatures, which can be affiliated.
