Hi Mike, no need to say sorry here mate. I totally understand about everyday life taking over some times.
It’s nice to know that you’ve been watching from the sides and following along.
I can relate to battling with time and techi issues Mike. My advice would be to only tackle techi stuff when your time is free mate because if you’re in a rush you’ll make mistakes and then rush off and forget what you done and where you done it.
Yes Sally is very clever and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in.
Regarding the 500 internal error Mike, I’d get onto your hosting company and ask if they can look into it for you as the error is on the hosting server. I found this page that may offer some advice for you Mike:

Firstly mate; congratulations on winning a spot in Sally’s new Training Program. I know you’re in for one hell of a ride, you will learn so much, but … I am sure you’re also going to have a lot of fun!
Brilliant post buddy and it say’s everything about blog hopping. The benefits and rewards are well worth the effort.
Since blog hopping myself I have learnt so much from other people, as well as contributing myself where and whenever I can.
I have been privileged to join a great community of people, who are always willing to share their knowledge and who are so supportive.
I now try to blog hop at 3-4 times a week and I really enjoy it.
Sally’s new book is excellent, great read.

It is going to be a ride and a half isn’t it. Do you remember the fair ground rides as a kid? “Hold Tight this is going to be the ride of your life” Kinda rings true in this case
You know Ian that’s one aspect of blog hopping I didn’t mention… what we learn along the way. Of course it is a very important part of blogging as is the community we all build together. Helping each other move forward is simply great, especially if we all get to where we want to be.

Barry firstly congrats on winning the competition, Sally really does know her blogging and here latest ebook was a great read with plenty of simple but really powerful action steps.
I love blog hopping for the simple reason that it is a great way to keep to keep in touch with old friends whilst discovering new ones.
Plus learning simple ideas like you have done, placing the tweet button at the bottom of the blog, thus tweeting becomes part of the natural flow towards leaving a comment.
Have just added shareaholic to my Chrome browser will have to add it to my blog next.

I often get in touch with people and advice them to place the tweet button at the bottom of the post as it does then flow onto the comments. Not only that but if the button is only placed at the top most people will forget the button by the time they get to the bottom.

By the way, writing keywords in the title and as the title of the chapters is important so people who are looking for specific keywords, may find your book in search, free or paid. This much use of keywords in ebooks makes sense to me. I am not saying you have to do it. This is my latest research.

I’ve used it some just to get familiar with it but as far as making a video with myself talking or being in it for the world to see that falls in to the category of hurtles and facing your fears. LOL

Yeah but Mike nobody has to see the videos until you’re comfortable with them.
When I first started making videos i had camstudio and i started by creating a short video on how to make an auto reply message on Outlook Express. It’s 3 minutes long as has had over 2750 views and nobody has said anything bad about it.
Why not pick a task that you’re good at and create a video of you in action. The only way to deal with fear to face it mate, honestly Mike once you’ve overcome it you’ll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner.
Go on plug in your headset and make a quick test video.

I was SO jealous when I saw you were one of Sally’s winners but I also knew you would soon be sharing what you are learning over there with all of us soon. I have a friend I was talking with just today telling her about some things I’m learning in a program I purchased and trust me, this program was expensive. But I told her I would be sharing it with my readers as I learned because I want everyone to benefit and I know you are the exact same way Barry.

You get a lot of comments on your blog posts because you are at the top of your game. The same applies to Terry Conti and Mandy Allen.
In fact although I no longer have any interest in information marketing I still visit the two blogs named and yours, the reason? All three of you are givers not takers, something a lot of people could learn from.
I agree entirely with your comments on those infuriating pop ups, they are a complete turn off to me. My own blogging is more social now with visits to fellow retiree’s blogs and of course the old favourites such as John McNally, another top blogger.

That is so great. Can’t wait to hear what you are learning. I am always watching your blog for ideas to improve my blog.
I am already signed up for Sally’s webinar. Love it because it is at 1pm for me I think and I can actually make it. Being on the west coast of the USA every webinar is at 5 or 6 pm for me(need to schedule them at 8 or 9pm for the east coast) which is a horrible time for a mom. I am running my kids around or fixing dinner right then so I don’t get to go to many. Guess I will have to start going to more webinars scheduled in UK time.

I think the most important thing about blog hopping is the people we meet and the relationships we build.
I have met the most amazing people in my blog hopping travels over the last 2 years and built some life long friendships that it is humbling.
That is the real key to blog hopping!

Yes blog hopping does take time, but there are tools available to make it alot easier to keep up with our favourite blogs.
I’ve installed FeedDemon and then subscribed to my favourite blogs RSS feed, that way I know exactly when they have a new post online.

I was just over at Frans blog where I read that you’re doing Pilates and that it is helping. That’s great news mate. Have you got long to wait until the Dr’s will see you?
My wife’s got a prolapsed disc and is often bed bound as a result. Bless her, when she’s got it bad she’s often nearly bent double. Saw her Dr last week and he want to try injections first
Unfortunatley there’s never a quick fix when it comes to the spine because the Dr’s know all to well how danderous these operations can be and what the worst case scenario is and trust me my friend you don’t want that.
I’m really pleased that you’re getting some releaf from the pain.

Yes blog hopping is a great way of learning new things from people that have actually done it and tested etc. Saves a lot of messing around doesn’t it.

I have seen the consultant a couple of times, just going through the pain relief and the physo route but finding the Pilates is better than than the physo stuff
.
The Op is the last resort really but if it come to that will have to make a choice.
The consultant mentioned injections and I spoke to a friend regarding this who has had them…said it was a pretty long needle going into the spinal area….it was pretty painful even though he was given local anaesthetic
Just have to be careful and see how it goes

Hi Zahid,
The injections will probably be cortisones, which are used to try and open the joints slightly so as to relieve the pressure on the nerve. My wife is now waiting on these herself Zahid.
Yes they probably are painful mate, but it’s a case weighing up the pain factors. Short term for the injections or long term as you are, it’s a no brainer Zahid.

Yes Bryan we did first come across each other during the 100 Blog Comment challenge, and have been friends ever since. With regard to learning new things and not implementing tut tut, only kidding mate. All I do is make notes of what I’ve learnt and when I need to apply them I dig the notes out

The benefits of blog hopping are massive and I must admit I’d never even heard of it tell Sally mentioned it on her blog and then I got involved in Jacintas 100 Blog Comment Challenge.
The thing I love the most about blog hopping is the friendships you make along the way.
I’ve met some fab people through blog hopping and visited blogs that I wouldn’t of even known about so it’s a really really good way of building relationships online and I think that it’s these relationships with others…that is the key to online success.

What a great testimonial, Barry! You’ve really shared some awesome examples of how building relationships can *naturally* lead to so much more. For me, it has never been about increasing the number of comments (although it’s nice to see tons of comments on a post =P); it’s more about meeting such amazing people who continually inspire me, including you! =)
When someone comments on my blog, I also make a habit of replying and commenting on their blog + sharing a tweet. My challenge recently, though, has been to do all that in a timely fashion. =P Do you schedule in when you reply to comments and do your sharing rounds? =)
