I think you’ve commented on most of the posts i link to in the challenge. I know that you were one of the two that commented in the Post that didn’t get the attention it deserved

I enjoyed reading which posts you felt were deserving in each category. Dang, I can’t believe I missed the one you wrote on backing up your blog. I see you and Jeffrey have been going back and forth too so I’m not the only one who likes kidding with him.
He does know his stuff though so will have to read both of those posts.
You did a great job with selecting the different posts and I see some are before you and I made our connection so I’ll have to be sure and read those as well.
You did great choosing the five bloggers to take on this challenge as well so I have no doubt they’ll do this justice.

I had some fun going through the older posts and seeing the journey I’ve been on since I started blogging.
Yes Jeffrey and I have been going back and forth for some time now. The only trouble is I have trouble working out when he’s kidding and when he’s not
He sure does know his stuff and is very helpful as well.
I hope that you enjoy going through the older posts Adrienne, some were a little tough to decide on but I got there in the end
I think choosing the 5 bloggers to pass the challenge onto was more difficult than selecting the posts to be included, but I’m sure the bloggers selected will take the challenge.

Additionally I just wanted to also comment on that whilst reading your post it felt like I was watching the oscars, i.e. when a director goes for nomination , they ususally show a selection of their works and achievements. I like all of the posts you chose.
I think I have read all of them except for two. I think those were from before I started blogging.
I did go and check out the posts that I had not see.
There is one post that stands out for me and that is “Learning Some Basic HTML Can Help Improve Your Articles”. I think that is the very first post I ever left a comment on. I remember being so nervous about my comment.

I really was nervous. It had never really done anything like this before. I had read a lot on how to blog and what comments were suppose to be like. I read that my comment should add content.
I was not real sure I could write a comment that would add to the content of the post, in fact I was real sure I could not. I am still not sure that my comments add anything sometimes but I still write them. Sometimes I think they add content that people don’t want because I think differently than the person who wrote the post.
I also did not think I had a very good post to link to but it worked.
So it was not a bad experience leaving a comment on your post so I just kept on doing it.

That’s a really strange because in my book Dee Ann any decent comment adds content and your comments are, and always have been, decent comments. Not only here but everywhere I see your comments on other blogs I am impressed Dee Ann.
I don’t think it’s about adding to the post itself, although that is good if people can, but more about what you thought of the post. If the person that wrote the post thinks differently to you don’t let it put you off as we all think differently so just add your opinion Dee Ann.
The search engines view comments as fresh content which is why we should try to generate as many as possible on our blogs and by replying to those comments we are also adding content to the posts
Your posts are really good Dee Ann, as you know I’ve linked to some of them and have tweeted others like it was going out of fashion. I’ve only done that because they’re so good and I know that they’ll help others get over some hurdles that many people face.
I hope that explanation helps Dee Ann.

And the other tip for backups is a great one. I got hacked about 7 months ago and having a backup at least kept it to “minor” catastrophe status.

Every bloggers needs to be aware just how important it is to have a regular back up. We put so much work into our blogs and it’s really stupid to leave it all to chance.
So sorry to hear that you were hacked, that’s a few I’ve heard of now
I thought I had been recently, which was the additional issue in the Headaches, Heartbeats and Helpful Friends post. I had 2 friends step up and help me there, Ian Ieba and Jacinta Dean. Jacinta went on to write an excellent post on blog security and some plugins that “help” protect us.

You make a mental note to comment on a blog post then before you know it a week’s past! And then you remember and think “Oh No! I should have done that and I should have visited there”

Great post Barry, the Challenge sounds like a great deal of fun and I must admit reading through the list of posts you have pulled out for recognition I can remember them all. They are all outstanding in my book, however if I was to choose a favourite it would have to be … “Challenge: I’m showing you mine, but will you show me yours?”
The buzz it created and the content it produced was amazing and people will be benefiting from not only the post but the video content for years to come.
I am really looking forward to reading the posts of the 5 people you have passed the “baton” too as I know they will definitely do the challenge justice and reveal some great posts for us all.

Glad you like the collection of posts included in the challenge. I did have fun with it, it was good to see how the blog and myself have progressed since I first started blogging.
Yes the video blog challenge was a great event and I was really pleased by the buzz it caused. As well as getting some excellent entries from the experienced video creators it was really good to see so many people start creating them for the first time, which was what i was hoping for.
You’re right Ian, we will all be benefit from the challenge for a long time to come. Some of the tutorials are simply outstanding….. and FREE!!
Thinking of the 5 to pass it onto was quite difficult as i know loads of people have got their heads down and really busy, as you were/are. The last thing I wanted to do was add to anyones work load so I’m hoping the 5 accept the challenge and run with it. It was good fun
That week certainly did bring us closer together mate, puffing ‘n panting and all that
That post was the only one for that category in my short list. As I said it wasn’t the post but what lead me to write it that was the gem
